Winter Semester
Enrollment Instructions for
Currently Enrolled Families
Our Winter Semester Pre-enrollment period is from October 15-31! Here is a FAQ for re-enrollment, and please email us if you have questions!
My child is loving their class! How do I re-enroll them for the Winter Semester?
If you would like to hold your child's spot in their class for the Winter Semester, please re-enroll your child through the Sawyer booking system. We will send you a link to the class you are currently enrolled in.
What if I want to switch to another class?
Please email us before the October 31st deadline and we will send you a link to the class you want to switch to. Remember, it is first come, first served with a class cap of 8-10 kids, depending on the class.
How long is the semester and will you be closed over the holidays?
The semester is for 12 weeks of classes and will run from November 9th through February 20 (15 weeks). However, we will be closed three weeks: November 23-27, December 21-January 1. You are not being charged for those three weeks.
Did you increase your tuition?
No, we did not. The total is the same, but we needed to add the supply fee and the tuition charges back together rather than keeping them separate. We discovered we were unable to prorate that fee for families who join after the semester starts. Discounts for multiple children and for multiple classes are applied at check-out.
Do I have to pay the semester all at once?
We have two payment options:
-
The whole semester can be paid at check out when you register.
-
There is an option of paying $40 deposit to hold your spot, then paying the balance over 3 installments: installment 1 due November 8th, installment 2 due December 1, and installment 3 due January 1. There will be no installment paid on February 1.
What are the Sawyer booking fees about?
Sawyer keeps track of payments, attendance and make-up tokens and is a communication tool. We have found that it is saving us a great deal of administrative hours. In the past, we had to manually manage several hundreds of transactions. For this service, Sawyer charges clients a small convenience fee of charge of $1.99 for transactions over $30 and $3.99 for charges over $200 that are added to the cart. These charges are only be applied to your initial booking and not recurring payments. Also, if you are paying by ACH, no fee is applied. If you want to pay us through cash, check or Venmo, please contact us and we will manually add you to the roster and you can pay at the studio before classes start. You will receive a receipt from Square which we will create for you.
We are a homeschool family who use Step Up For Students. Is there a code we need to use to defer the tuition? How does it all work?
Step Up For Students (SUFS) is a great option for homeschooling families who want to add art education to their child's electives program. You still need to sign up for the semester to hold your spot, however, at check out time, use the code "stepup26!" to defer your total. Please choose to pay the semester in full at the check out as well, not the payment plan. On our end, we track your attendance and claim our funds throughout the semester. We would appreciate if you could release 4 weeks at a time instead of single classes, unless you are doing a drop-in option. This cuts down on a lot of admin time for us because SUFS does not talk with Sawyer's platform and we have to do everything manually, which can take several hours each week if you are paying per single class over the semester.
I am not sure yet if we will be attending, but I am afraid I will loose my spot!
The classes are first come, first served, so we strongly encourage you to register your child by October 31st if they are in a high demand class such as Crochet, Stitch Club, or Draw and Paint, or any other class that is currently full. If for some reason you decide you do not want your spot afterall before the semester starts, we can refund any payment and leave the spot open for when the semester goes public.
I am not sure we can come all the weeks of the Winter Semester.
Remember, we are closed three weeks over the Thanksgiving and Winter break holidays and these weeks are not included in the semester/cost. If you have additional travel plans and will miss more dates, you can use your makeup token for any missed days up to 2 months after the missed class. Also, we do have drop-in rates for many (but not all) classes if you feel you cannot commit to the entire semester. You will need to pay for those as you attend from week to week and they are based on available spots. We also have events on select weekends if you want to come then.
What about your camps? Are those available for sign-up yet?
Yes, our camps are posted for the school year! Also, when we do a preview of our Summer Camps in January, you will be able to pre-enroll before it goes live to the public in February. You will only need to pay a deposit to hold your spot and pay by May 1 versus paying the full amount at enrollment for the public.
